Today, we are looking for a dedicated individual for a role in Jacksonville, FL (On-Site/Office). Duties: Collect and process hazardous waste for temporary storage and disposal. Comply with established regulations to collect, process, package, and prepare hazardous wastes for temporary storage and disposal. Inspect hazardous material storage locations for compliance with storage guidelines or local instructions. Review receipt documentation of hazardous waste for accuracy. Perform environmental, safety, or operational checks on inventories of hazardous materials, waste handling, or spill response equipment. Assist in the containment, treatment, and clean up operations resulting from hazardous spills. Utilize computer terminals and database software. Requirements Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications:

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the screen out listed below. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: 1) Collecting, processing, and packaging hazardous wastes for temporary storage and disposal; 2) Operating manual and power lifting devices and motor vehicles to pick up, transport and store industrial waste or other types of hazardous waste; 3) Verifying identification labels are accurate with the correct information such as origin number, waste information, dates and type of waste; 4) Separating, combining and transporting hazardous chemicals and substances for the department; 5) Examining hazardous waste containers at generation sites for leakage and other indications of deterioration; and 6) Operating a database for processing, storing and shipping requirements. This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information: This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position can require rotating shift work. This position can require irregular hours.
