Pipe Welder Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder with five years of commercial or naval experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using the SMAW and GTAW processes. This role requires the ability to fuse inserts and weld various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe. Responsibilities: Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW process. Fuse inserts and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe using SMAW and GTAW processes. Conduct mirror welding using SMAW and GTAW processes. Adhere to OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry. Utilize fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six-inch scale accurately. Operate effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging. Essential Skills: Proficiency in SMAW and GTAW welding processes. Experience in pipe welding, stick welding, and TIG welding. Ability to work in confined spaces. Familiarity with OSHA regulations in the shipbuilding industry. Work Environment: Work in a physically demanding environment, including confined spaces on naval ships and in shop settings. Candidates will need to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Job Type & Location: This is a contract position based out of Newport News, Virginia. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
