Youth Soccer Officials Needed
Ankeny's Parks and Recreations Department is looking for youth soccer officials for the 2025 fall season. Games are held on Saturdays, August - October. Officiate Parks and Recreation Youth Soccer games for both boys and girls, grades 1st - 7th. Officials will provide leadership and support to promote a fun environment through good sportsmanship and safety for all individuals involved. Officials will have the opportunity to stay on with Parks & Rec department as a gym supervisor during the fall/winter if desired. Non-certified officials start at $13.75/hr. Certified officials earn $16.75/hr. Interested individuals should apply online as soon as possible. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. Officiate youth games accurately and fairly based on good knowledge of the sport and rules. Promote good sportsmanship at all times. Ensure a safe environment for all participants during games. Entry Requirements and Skills
Soccer knowledge and experience is preferred but not required. Will train officials. Must be available on Saturdays, August 16 - October 4, 2025. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to run and be active during games. Dependable and reliable. Clean and neat appearance. Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. Tactful and effective communication skills. Ability to maintain an exceptional level of safety Must be at least 14 years of age. Indoor/Outdoor setting. Must be adaptive to all weather conditions. This position is not eligible for health benefits but may be eligible for IPERS. IPERS eligibility and participation will begin once an employee earns $1,000 or more in two consecutive quarters and will continue for the duration of employment.
