• Job Title: Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Altoona, PA • Service Setting: Hospital (Main OR, Offsite ASC) • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 08/04/2025 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts; 12–20 shifts/month preferred
COVERAGE DATES
• Start date August 4, 2025 • Ongoing need due to team growth
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adult and pediatric cases • Patient Volume/Census: 3–7 cases per day (main OR) • Phone Consults: No • Case Mix: General surgery, OB, cardiac (EP), neuro, thoracic, trauma, vascular, ortho, ENT, IR/CT/bronch, plastics, urology, GI, robotics
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 380 • Trauma Level: Level III • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Anesthesia equipment, OR and ASC setup • Specialty Backup Available: Full CRNA team and MDs • Support Staff Available: OR staff, anesthesia techs, nursing support • Reason for Coverage: Team Growth
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: No (Full Privileges) • Credentialing Timeline: 90 days
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• All core CRNA functions across full surgical spectrum • EP cases (locums may cover; perm staff cover cardiac cases)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Pennsylvania license required • Board: Board Certified CRNA • DEA: Not required • Certifications: ACLS • Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty • Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently and across a wide case mix
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide anesthesia services across 17 OR sites and offsite ASC • Manage 3–7 surgical cases per day • Cover full range of anesthesia services excluding major cardiac • Participate in high-acuity and multi-disciplinary surgical environments
