ROLE We are seeking a Health Systems Data Analyst to support the David Grant Medical Center (DGMC) at Travis Air Force Base in California. Your responsibilities will focus on mining and analyzing medical data, developing executive-level performance reports, and creating interactive dashboards in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and Defense Health Agency (DHA) optimization objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES I. Data Reporting

Deliver monthly snapshot business performance reports to 60th Medical Group (60 MDG) Executive leadership by the 20th of each month Prepare and present a monthly business plan performance briefing to executive staff not exceeding 30 minutes Query data from Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS and Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Data Mart (M2) to fulfill up to five data requests per business day Monitor volume and ensure all data queries are delivered within three business days of request Maintain proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI II. Analysis Support

Support sanctioned projects or optimization efforts through analysis, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement Design and develop data products and visualizations using Tableau or Power BI for David Grant Medical Center (DGMC) leadership Recommend and monitor performance metrics and benchmarks aligned with organizational goals Mine and shape healthcare data to produce actionable insights and strategic recommendations Design impact assessments to measure the effects of policy or benefit changes across the system Evaluate market demographics and viability to support service expansion or optimization efforts such as External Use Leases (EULs), Military Health System Support Initiatives (MHSSI), and Military Construction (MILCON) III. Business Planning

Provide timely and accurate business planning support in response to Defense Health Agency (DHA) and higher headquarters taskers Comply with suspense dates for deliverables or obtain documented approval for deadline extensions Prioritize project deadlines and request extensions only when necessary and approved by the 60th Medical Support Squadron (60 MDSS)/SGSR Flight Commander or designee Develop Business Case Analyses (BCAs), Return on Investment (ROI) reports, and technical presentations to inform resource allocation Conduct audits and quality assurance activities in support of DGMC decision-making IV. Optimization Strategy

Analyze current systems and operations to identify opportunities for clinical optimization Implement corrective actions and integrate technologies to improve efficiency or productivity Build and apply predictive models to evaluate clinical performance or operational outcomes

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge of healthcare data extraction techniques to support clinical and operational decision-making Knowledge of performance metrics and throughput analysis in medical treatment facilities Knowledge of reporting methods for inpatient operations and hospital-based performance outcomes Skill in using government medical data systems such as MHS GENESIS, M2, MIIS, and DMHRSi Knowledge of equivalent civilian or federal healthcare data environments Ability to integrate clinical data analysis with business performance planning and reporting Skill in designing dashboards and data visualizations for senior healthcare leadership Skill in using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau to communicate data insights

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years experience working with DHA medical systems or equivalent civilian healthcare data environments

EDUCATION

CPR/BLS certification required Relevant education in healthcare administration, data science, public health, or related preferred

Applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individuals primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
