Position Schedule
Four 9-hour shifts weekly
Shifts range from a 5:30 AM start to a 6:30 PM end

How You’ll Support the Team
As a vital part of the Pre/Post Op Department, you’ll:
Prepare patients for surgical procedures with careful attention and compassion
Support patients throughout their post-operative recovery journey
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
At least 2 years of nursing experience

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care, utilizing principles of growth and development across the lifespan. They must assess and interpret patient data to identify individualized age-specific needs and deliver care in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Core Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience
Education : BSN preferred; Master’s in Nursing or related field may substitute for certification requirements
Performance : Must attain and maintain “Solid/Strong/Good” or higher on annual performance evaluations
Professional Contribution : Completion of one approved department/hospital/system contribution annually
Clinical Competence :
Critical thinking and leadership skills in applying the nursing process
Strong judgment, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Physical stamina for frequent walking, lifting, and patient positioning
Interpersonal Skills : Positive, caring relationships with all levels of staff, patients, and families
Licensure & Certifications
RN License : Must hold a valid RN license in the state of the facility or a multistate license under the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC)
CPR/BLS : Required within 30 days of hire (must include didactic and hands-on components as per AHA)
UPMC Certification : Required within 1 year of hire/transfer unless:
Candidate holds a DNP or Master’s in Nursing
Or holds a BSN and a Master’s in a related field
Compliance & Clearances
Must obtain
Act 34 clearance
If relocating to the facility’s state, licensure must be transferred within 60 days
