Grossing Technician / Grossing Tech / Grossing Technologist

Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate accessioning and labeling of specimens.
- Perform gross description and dissection of incoming specimens.
- Maintain specimen and patient identification integrity.
- Describe gross anatomic features of routine surgical specimens.
- Review clinical information for pathologic examination relevance.
- Examine specimens to identify pathologic conditions.
- Dictate findings clearly and comprehensively.
- Select relevant tissue samples for slide preparation.
- Refer complex specimens to senior staff when necessary.
- Ensure the laboratory's general appearance is well-kept.
- Adhere to OSHA laboratory safety standards and regulations.
- Handle biohazardous and chemical materials appropriately.
- Participate in safety training and maintain policy compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and company records.
- Effectively communicate with management, colleagues, and clients.
- Collaborate within a team-based work environment.
- May require occasional overtime, on-call availability, or flexible scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or medical laboratory technology.
- 1 year of laboratory training or grossing experience preferred.
- State licensure as mandated by law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or grossing experience in a high-volume setting.
Salary Range: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour. Compensation is based on experience; regional variations may apply.
