Job Summary:
Supermicro Computer, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Director, Data Center Solution to join our data center team. The Senior Director or GM, Business Development is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing high-value business development strategies, securing large-scale project opportunities, and expanding Data Center market influence.
This individual will serve as a strategic business leader, collaborating with executive leadership, operations, and marketing to implement consistent business development processes, enhance client relationships, and drive market penetration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee high-impact business development strategies aligned with corporate, regional, and industry-specific growth goals.
- Identify and pursue large-scale, high-value business opportunities, securing long-term contracts and partnerships that drive sustained revenue growth.
- Lead strategic account planning, sales pipeline development, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with company financial targets.
- Outline and operationalize strategic business targets aligned with corporate level goals
- Engage with system hardware architects, software engineers, and thought leaders at customers and ensure efficient collaboration with AI engineering and software teams
- Lead technical and business-related follow-ups as Supermicro Data center key point of contact
- Build partnerships with internal sales teams and their end customers
- Analyze industry trends, especially data center performance in AI
- Stay up to date on industry news and trends on data center & AI: about products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 15+ years of overall experience in data center business development
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy by winning customer trust across all stakeholders (procurement, engineering, operations, energy, sustainability), fostering strong relationships and negotiating complex deals to close
- Driven to understand customer/partner underlying business drivers and capable of translating the same into strategy that informs execution
- Employed lessons learned from research, strategy development, and partner engagement to enhance the data center product lines by collaborating with the product and engineering teams
Salary Range
$200,000 - $234,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
