The full-time Pastor/Director of Student Ministry is responsible for the High School and Middle School Ministry at Saratoga Federated Church. The Director will report to the Lead Pastor and support the Mission, Vision, and Values of SFC.

Qualifications:

·Character – SFC believes that character matters, especially in its leaders. Those who lead must live exemplary lives, modeling the behaviors of the kingdom of God. Staff members are expected to live by the teachings of Scriptures. This person must be a committed Christian leader with a passion for discipling students. This leader must demonstrate a deep personal walk with Christ, integrity, proven ability to build trust and unity, be a team player, and a self-starter.

·Culture – This leader will embrace SFC’s statement of faith, mission, values, vision, and overall team culture (See our Playbook below).

·Competence – This leader must be able to think with vision, organize large and small events, communicate with small and large groups, and shepherd students and volunteers effectively. Bachelor’s Degree in a ministry/leadership/theological field of study Preferred. 3+ years of experience working with students preferred.

·Chemistry – The SFC staff has a dynamic interrelation between team members. There should be a mutual respect and rapport that is consistently experienced both from and toward this leader.

Responsibilities:

·Provide primary leadership in High School and Middle School Ministry (combined and separate) for weekly gatherings, including one Sunday and one mid-week program.

·Plan worship, teaching, small groups, and a fun activity.

·Plan special activities/outreach events, including a summer camp experience and a winter weekend getaway (e.g., Mount Hermon or Hume Lake).

·Coordinate service opportunities for students within and outside the church.

·Plan and coordinate a yearly calendar of events, and regular communications with students, families and volunteers.

·Build and lead a youth ministry volunteer team (adult volunteers and student leaders).

· Build relationships with parents, bringing them together at least yearly for communication, encouragement, and celebration.

·Attend regular staff meetings.

·Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and staff to help execute ministry to parents.

·Share responsibilities for periodic all-church, “all hands on deck” events and other pastoral duties.
