Full-Stack Software Engineer

Were a fintech company building the financial backbone of the U.S. fruit, vegetable, and nut industries the crops that keep people healthy and fed. As climate, trade, and financial volatility grow, were building modern tools across lending, insurance, and hedging to protect our domestic food supply. Our first product is live and generating revenue. We have unfair distribution/data/bizdev partnerships, and just closed our seed round. Who were looking for Were looking for an early-stage engineer to help us build the rails for a smarter, more resilient agricultural finance system. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, ships thoughtfully, and sees technical architecture as a tool to unlock real-world change. You likely have 5-7 years of experience in FinTech, but that isn't a hard rule. Youll be joining a small, driven team thats already shipping, and were looking for someone whos excited to not just build, but also help define how we work together. Youll be a key voice in setting the tone, practices, and principles of our engineering culture. We're especially excited about someone who can: Move comfortably across stacks and systems, including legacy languages and data formats still entrenched in the financial industry. You know when to modernize versus when to bridge Design and build APIs, data integrations, and internal tooling that connect our platform with banks, insurers, and other third parties Balance feasibility and imagination. You bring your technical lens to brainstorms that combine user needs, client constraints, and where the industry is heading, not just where it is today Collaborate tightly with product, data, and sales to ensure were building what users actually need and not whats easiest to ship Bring creativity to a regulated, conservative industry and push boundaries where it matters Care deeply about the mission. Were building tools to strengthen domestic food security and support growers who are often overlooked by the financial sector Understand financial concepts like risk, coverage, margin, underwriting, and liquidity, youre eager to learn fast and translate them into robust software solutions Lead by example and help create a culture of accountability, pragmatism, and mutual respect You might be a fit if you're energized by solving unsexy problems that matter, you're allergic to over-engineering, and you see software not as the end, but the means.
