The Grants Development Office secures external funding for all BPHC programs. The office supports existing programs, new projects or projects created specifically in response to requests for proposals (RFPs). The Grants Development Office works with programs to identify funding opportunities, write grant application narratives, assist with the budget process, complete required forms and attachments, review for grant responsiveness, formatting requirements and completeness, compiles, create and submit final grant applications. In addition, the Grants Development Office assists with follow-up communications regarding the initial application. This includes working with BPHC grants program teams, in collaboration with Post Award, around the reporting, budgeting, funding restrictions, no cost extensions, invoicing processes, internal program budget review, and budget modification processes. The Grants Development Office works with principal investigators (PIs) and grant project staff to ensure compliance with project set up, terms and conditions of awards, BPHC policies, and regulations and post award amendments, progress reports etc.
Duties:
Contribute to making BPHC an antiracist organization. Collaborate with program staff to research, identify, and evaluate funding opportunities. Assist in planning, writing, and preparing public health grant proposals. Work with the Grants Development team to develop key sections of proposals. Aid in preparing administrative components of proposal submissions. Ensure budgets align with BPHC guidelines and policies. Provide ongoing training and technical assistance to program teams. Collaborate with the Grants Development Director on accessing grant submission processes and databases. Ensure policies related to grant offices are updated and available online. Update grants information and support resources for BPHC staff on the Intranet. Prepare and circulate BPHC Indirect cost and/or Fringe benefit waivers. Meet regularly with Bureaus and programs for information gathering, training, and TA. Program Support and Collaboration:
Collaborate with program staff to maintain accurate grant application records. Develop an annual report highlighting outcomes and metrics of the Grants Development Office. Assist with grant amendments, progress reports, and information requests. Provide technical assistance to grant program teams around reporting, budgeting, and funding restrictions. Collaborate with principal investigators on compliance and post-award processes. Work with funded teams to create a Project Fact Sheet for new grants. Receive ongoing training to provide technical assistance to program teams in budget monitoring. Collaborate with BPHC Programs on 'Just in Time Requests' and annual renewal documentation. Collaborate with the Post-Award grants team to provide guidance to PIs on regulatory and compliance monitoring post-award. Promote health equity, inclusion, and diversity. Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. Strong understanding of grant administration processes. Familiarity with Federal Uniform Guidance CFR Part 200. Budget development skills and basic understanding of indirect cost and fringe benefit rates. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in budget development, financial management, and compliance for grant proposals. Experience working with program staff, principal investigators, and external partners is advantageous. Familiarity with grant management software, databases, and tools is a plus. Ability to adapt to changing grant and contract policies and regulations.
