Operating System Technical Specialist - MON/TUES Off Days

Join GovCIO as we seek talented Operating Systems Specialists to support our customer, the USPS' Network and Compute Technology (NCT) group. This role is pivotal in planning, developing, implementing, and supporting the USPS network and compute technology infrastructure. Help enhance the postal network by ensuring optimal performance, cybersecurity, and reliable operations for over 32,000 USPS facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day incident and deployment support for various server operating systems, including Unix, Linux, and Windows.
Administer middle-tier applications such as web servers, application servers, and cloud services.
Manage incident response using the USPS ServiceNow application, adhering to established SLAs.
Take a leadership role in maintaining documentation and support of complex server and database environments.
Develop and implement proactive problem detection procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
Create and maintain project plans following USPS standards, keeping management informed of critical issues.
Collaborate with Program Managers and engineering staff to drive project outcomes while analyzing and resolving complex hardware and software problems.
Support the development community to test and implement software changes.
Maintain detailed documentation on equipment configurations and system performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
Expertise in Unix/Linux server administration, Windows server administration, and middle-tier technologies.
Experience with technologies including Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Docker, Kubernetes, and various cloud services.
Clearance required: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to obtain and maintain USPS Public Trust.
