Immediate opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Worker to join a state agency in Pikesville. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and sustaining property. Ideal candidates will possess a variety of skills such as; carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, H.V.A.C., painting, and other related trades.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs rough and finished carpentry, demolishes and rebuilds partitions, installs pre-hung, slab, wood-framed, metal doors, window frames, repairs doors, finish hardware, and locks.
Installs new flooring including; wood, linoleum, carpet, and tile.
Repairs or replaces defective roofing using materials such as roll roofing, roof coating, primer sealers, flashing, etc., and installs roofing materials.
Performs drywall work and patches damaged wall surfaces.
Assembles, install, and repair water pipes, fittings, fixtures, heating, and drainage systems.
Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on cooling and air distribution systems.
Makes routine electrical repairs such as replacing cooler motors, exhaust fans, lighting fixtures, electrical outlets, appliances, light switches, and ballasts.
Operates lawn maintenance equipment, snow blowers and state-owned vehicles.
Paints outside and inside buildings using various paint equipment.
REQUIREMENTS :
Driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to operate various hand tools, measuring devices, and lab equipment.
Directs the work of skilled or semi-skilled outside contractors for completing work on facilities or property.
Ability to read and interpret basic maps, blueprints, building plans and drawings.
