Environmental Planning Supervisor – Southern California (Remote)

About the Role
Join a fully remote, mission-driven environmental consulting team committed to sustainability, regulatory compliance, and responsible development. We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Planning Supervisor to lead and mentor a growing team of professionals, drive excellence across CEQA-focused projects, and help shape a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a remote team of environmental planners (currently 8, growing to 15)
Oversee and package CEQA documents including Initial Studies, Mitigated Negative Declarations, and Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs)
Participate in RFPs, proposals, scoping, and budgeting for environmental planning projects
Coordinate with agencies such as Caltrans, CPUC, and local planning departments
Support business development efforts and contribute to client diversification
Conduct occasional site visits across Southern California (e.g., Porterville, Tulare, Imperial Valley, LA, High Desert, coastal regions)
Lead weekly team meetings and executive check-ins
Provide QA/QC oversight, performance reviews, and mentorship across experience levels
Qualifications
Strong experience with CEQA and EIR processes
Proven ability to lead teams through complex environmental planning projects
Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and mentorship skills
Experience managing remote teams and fostering virtual engagement
Project management experience in consulting environments
Located in Southern California or willing to travel regionally for site visits
Preferred Qualifications
NEPA experience
Familiarity with Initial Studies, Mitigated Negative Declarations, and Negative Declarations
ArcGIS proficiency (training available if needed)
Experience with diverse agencies and both public/private sector clients

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
