We are seeking a
Project Leader 1
to join our
Security and Electronic Systems (SES)
business Unit. As part of
(SES)
Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
The
Project Leader 1
is responsible for the overall administration, organization and implementation of multiple electrical and electronic security system projects ranging in size from $10k to $5MM+. These may include new installations or operations and maintenance functions.
Responsible for:
Responsible for the successful planning, monitoring and oversight of all assigned projects. Prepare for and lead project kick-off meetings.
Oversee requirements evaluation for pending or ongoing projects; direct & support the engineering team and SMEs as they build requirements matrices, conduct surveys, complete designs and estimate project costs.
Review draft designs and BOMs prior to submission to the customer.
Review and finalize designs and proposals for assigned or pending projects.
Review and approve procurement requests; work with procurement team and track orders through receiving in order to effectively add delivered material to invoices.
Review invoices w/ vendors in invoicing systems.
Plan and forecast all installation activities using a project schedule and InfraLink® *.
Track statuses and ensure the project team advances projects in coordination with the customer.
Work with program manager, program support specialists, corporate leadership and recruiting team members to identify and track manpower needs and source candidates for interviewing and hiring.
Track all labor hours and material procurement and update financial tracking tools accordingly for each job and task order. Ensure work is performed in accordance with the schedule and within the budget.
Prepare and deliver a weekly installation project summary to the customer; ensure all project deliverables are developed and submitted.
Participate in USCP-team recurring planning and status forums to provide updates and contribute/collaborate.
Assist with the development of monthly reporting and any program assessment metrics and reports preparation (e.g. monthly key program reviews).
Work with program manager, contracts manager or other corporate support resources to address any required change orders; be prepared to interface with customer contract representatives and escalate issues to corporate leaders as needed.
Complete all assigned financial, schedule, risk, contract or other administrative project reports.
Ensure all project artifacts are completed and saved in the designated data repository in accordance site/team SOPs.
Lead and mentor the project team including the Superintendent, Team Leads & Engineers. Ensure feedback is provided on a quarterly basis and work with subordinate leaders to assess training needs of individuals and the team.
Ensure accountability of all M.C. Dean tools and resources used by the Install Team.
Develop an annual training plan for your team to ensure program/project readiness and team/individual professional development, work with program manager on budget and approval for training.
Ensure the Project Team is complying with all safety policies and standards; this includes ensuring permits or licenses to perform work.
Promote and ensure a professional work environment; maintain high standards for customer service and reliability- protect the team's and company's reputation.

Education
:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with a MS degree
Requirements:
Experience concurrently managing Electrical and Electronics Security System projects and teams.
Experience managing diverse, multi-discipline groups on projects that involve: Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, and Instrumentation.
Experienced in up-front project involvement with the client, engineering firms, and General Contractors.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong business acumean and ability to reach mutual agreement/consensus to meet collective objectives.
Able to work in a diverse environment, with personnel having a range of backgrounds.
Strong analytical thinking to evaluate options and directions.
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Can facilitate change and communicate effectively.
Able to think abstractly, in both short - and - long term planning.
