Business Development Manager Aerospace & Bearings
Location: Torrington, CT / Oxford, CT (On-site, with travel) Employment Type: Full-time
About the Company We are a leading manufacturer of high-precision bearings and mechanical components for the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. Our products are trusted by OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense contractors worldwide for mission-critical applications. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth, develop key relationships, and expand our presence in the aerospace and defense markets. Position Summary The Business Development Manager will identify and secure new business opportunities, manage strategic accounts, and promote our bearings and precision component product lines to aerospace and defense customers. This role combines technical product knowledge with strong sales, relationship management, and market development skills. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategies to grow aerospace and defense bearings sales. Identify and qualify new customers, programs, and contract opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, MROs, and government agencies. Prepare and deliver proposals, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and customer requirements. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to close profitable deals. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet customer needs. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to guide business strategy. Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer visits. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred). 5 10+ years of sales or business development experience in aerospace, defense, or precision mechanical components. Bearings industry experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Preferred Skills Experience selling aerospace bearings, machined parts, or precision mechanical assemblies. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting processes. Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
