Job Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Northville, MI
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our growing team. This role will focus on managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data using Esri’s ArcGIS software suite to support utility and telecommunications engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise and possess strong spatial analysis, data integration, and web mapping application development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, edit, and maintain GIS data including geodatabases, feature classes, and shapefiles.
Perform spatial analyses using ArcGIS tools to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
Design and produce maps, charts, and other visualizations to communicate spatial information effectively.
Develop and maintain web mapping applications using ArcGIS Enterprise, Web AppBuilder, and Story Maps.
Collect and integrate spatial data from GPS, surveys, and external sources.
Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and project managers to support project planning and decision-making.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity through quality control practices.
Provide technical support and training to internal users and contribute to GIS process improvements.
Perform other GIS-related duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Primarily office-based work utilizing GIS software.
Occasional travel or field work to support data collection or client meetings.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and spatial data.

Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and geoprocessing tools.
Familiarity with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, rasters) and data quality management.
Experience with web mapping tools such as ArcGIS Enterprise, Web AppBuilder, and Story Maps.
Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for GIS automation and analysis.
Strong understanding of cartographic principles, map projections, and coordinate systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with utility or telecommunications projects is a plus.
