Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. On this team, you’ll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.

About the Role: Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer II to help lead and work as part of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to architect, design, integrate, debug, and test novel RF/EW/cyber systems. The successful candidate will focus on delivering innovative, technical contributions through activities such as system architecting, design, and documentation. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to apply their leadership, technical, and operational domain knowledge for test planning activities, system integration & test, qualification testing, and test execution in deployment representative environments. Key responsibilities may include:

Defining tailored system engineering processes and approaches that meet system cost, schedule, and performance constraints Leads the architecting, designing, and documenting early lifecycle, RF/EW/cyber systems and associated capabilities Leads multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration Collaborating and consulting with customer and internal program leadership to develop, coordinate, and schedule system development plans that deliver required operational capabilities Active, hands-on participation in product integration and verification to include methods and strategies across the entire system design *Please note, we reserve the option to bump up or down the level of the role based on our chosen candidates experience and skillsets*

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in STEM field (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience in engineering roles of:

10+ Years with BS 8+ Years with MS 6+ Year with PHD

Hold an Active TOP SECRET collateral clearance Considerable experience with applying DE, including Model Based Systems Engineering tools, to enable system development Extensive experience with RF/Cyber/and EW capability development Extensive experience with system and system of systems architecture development processes Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements Ability to contribute to the development of tailored system engineer processes and approaches for fast-paced capability development and demonstration to guide programs in their systems engineering activities Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Have an active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance Hands-on experience or knowledge in the following areas

use of MATLAB or other programming languages/tools Digital Communication waveforms of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters test and experimentation efforts in relevant environments

Demonstrated success in System Engineering, Integration, and Test leadership roles Experience with modern, agile software development methods Understanding of military operations and application of RF, cyber, and EW capabilities in these environments to enable mission success Extensive experience with laboratory integration and test activities for RF/Cyber/and EW capabilities Extensive experience participating and leading documentation and communication efforts with multi-disciplinary teams on to develop data-driven designs, results, reports, and presentations Ability to travel and work at remote sites in support of test events, meetings, and training activities

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
