Primary Function

The Content Strategist will serve as a single point of contact and consultative content expert, driving strategic and editorial excellence for content deliverables across select brands. This role will evaluate and ensure alignment with brand objectives, behavioral strategies, and audience needs while leading strategic connections to the business unit's other competencies: Creative Editorial, Content Effectiveness Measurement, and the company's Patient Solutions. With deep understanding of brand business goals, behavioral strategies and audience insights, the Content Strategist will supervise briefings of other business unit disciplines and manage resources to drive efficiency, excellence, and measurable impact.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as the embedded editorial and content quality lead for assigned IMST teams, acting as the day-to-day liaison

Execute comprehensive content strategy development including content mapping and impact planning consultation

Interpret human insights and behavioral strategies to establish editorially strong content strategies, themes, and messaging frameworks that drive engagement and behavior change

Lead strategic partnerships with Marketing Strategy Leads and Experience Planners to assess content gaps and develop solutions that elevate storytelling and brand voice

Manage and guide the development of messaging, content plans, and core assets with a focus on editorial quality, narrative clarity, and visual storytelling-including video, photography, and data visualization

Collaborate with the Creative Editorial team to ensure consistency in tone, style, and storytelling across all content formats

Lead creative reviews and provide editorial feedback on key deliverables such as scripts, infographics, patient stories, and digital experiences

Establish the development of best practice guides and learning sessions (e.g., Lunch 'n Learns, Office Hours) that promote editorial excellence and creative innovation

Develop content strategy capabilities and establish strategic frameworks across the brand portfolio

Work across the creative team by fostering a positive work environment, and promoting cross-functional collaboration

Travel for production as needed

Skills & Qualifications

Advanced content strategy development with expertise in content mapping and impact planning methodologies

Expert editorial judgment with strong patient storytelling and messaging development capabilities

Strategic thinking with deep understanding of audience segmentation and behavioral psychology

Proven track record developing integrated content campaigns that drive measurable engagement and behavior change

High-level experience coordinating cross-functional teams and establishing resource management protocols across multiple disciplines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional client relationship management abilities

Expert knowledge in data visualization and infographics creation and optimization

Advanced experience with media co-creation partnerships and collaborative content development initiatives

Proven ability to evaluate content effectiveness measurement and strategies and make independent optimization decisions

Strong consultative skills with ability to brief and supervise specialist teams

Education & Experience

10+ years of content strategy experience within agency, brand or healthcare marketing environments

Demonstrated success leading content initiatives for regulated industries, preferably pharmaceutical or healthcare

Proven track record managing content for multiple brands or product lines simultaneously

Experience collaborating with creative agencies and internal marketing teams

Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications or related field required

Experience in the Healthcare/Pharma industry via agency or creative services
