Join a dynamic team as an Engineering Technician on the 2nd shift, where you will utilize your expertise in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) to set up machines, troubleshoot, and perform basic programming. You will support the entire department with a focus on machine familiarity and rework experience, handling components such as capacitors. This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest technology in the industry and grow into engineering and management positions.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate SMT machines, troubleshoot and perform basic programming.
Provide support across the department, eventually managing equipment on the floor.
Perform component-level troubleshooting and rework tasks.
Execute customer projects under the guidance of senior engineers, including data collection for reports.
Develop test plans and utilize analysis tools.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
High school diploma required; an AA or AS degree is preferred.
Proficiency in arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
Intermediate computer skills, including Excel, SAP, and Outlook.
Ability to train others effectively.
Fine motor skills for handling small parts and tools.
Close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
IPC 610 or J standard certifications are nice to have.
Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma principles is preferred.
Eligible to work in an ITAR-regulated environment.
Work Environment
Work on brand new machines in an exciting environment with low turnover. The position offers growth opportunities and the potential to transition from a 12-month contract to full-time employment. Enjoy benefits such as 10 paid holidays and 5 days of accrued PTO. Work schedule includes 1st shift starting between 7-8am and 2nd shift starting between 1-2pm, with overlapping shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.86 - $32.32/hr.
