The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Sales Associate at the UVA Bookstore.
UVA Bookstore is a self-supporting, non-profit organization that receives no local or state funding and is owned and operated by the University. We are dedicated to supporting both academic programs and student life. Our mission is to remain an integrated part of the life of the University by taking an active role in supporting students, faculty, staff, departments, and University initiatives.
The Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all UVA Bookstore customers, both internal and external. They act professionally when assisting others, have a working knowledge of products offered in the store, act as an ambassador of UVA Bookstore, and work both independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Assisting customers on the sales floor
* Restocking sales floor
* Checking inventory levels in store, stock room, and warehouse
* Effective communication with customers, staff, and other University employees
* Use of a computer including email and inventory software
Minimum Qualifications * Education: High school diploma/GED * Experience: 1-3 years retail experience Preferred Qualifications
* More than 5 years retail experience Anticipated Hiring Range : $15.00 -$18.00 hourly, commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt level position with benefits.
