And that's the kind of work we want to be part of.Hiring for Sr. Business Development Manager - San Francisco BasedThe Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing sales by actively selling solutions by driving the acquisition and expansion of high-value accounts to Cell Discovery customers in designated accounts and/or territory. Owns the full sales cycle with their accounts using supporting functions as needed (SST, SMEs, Product Managers).This role plays a pivotal part in leading large-scale projects and building a strong sales pipeline to capture growth opportunities to achieve the target. The individual is responsible for leading innovative processes and building tools that enhance commercial team performance while continuously improving existing workflows by gathering and communicating key market trends, competitive activities and customer insights.Key Responsibilities:Accurately forecasts and delivers on monthly and annual sales targetsManages the sales funnel from new opportunity generation through closingIdentifies, develops, and secures both new and current customers while utilizing cross-selling techniques to increase spend within accountsDemonstrates advanced understanding and appropriately communicates the Bioscience Cell and Drug Discovery portfolio (including but not limited to the Nucleofection, Primary Cells, and Media portfolios) while maintaining Lonza's value proposition to customersDemonstrates advanced knowledge of the drug discovery pipeline, Lonza's product and service capabilities, relevant applications, and product justification in order to be recognized as the expert in the fieldAdvanced understanding of assigned accounts including site locations, departments, key decision makers, and decision-making processAdvanced understanding of market knowledge and competitor landscapeOrganizes, plans, and schedules time to provide optimum and effective account and territory coverageRecord activities and client information in the CRM database on a daily and timely basisPerform other duties as assignedKey Requirements:3-5 years' experience in Sales/Business Development in relevant Life Sciences industry with a minimum of 2 years of field experienceRequired: previous business development and/or applications experience in the San Francisco areaKnowledge of cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry preferredCore Selling skills (prospecting, funnel management, closing, etc.) including creating customer value, consultative selling, technical selling, and effective sales presentationsKnowledge and experience in the disciplines of drug discovery and pre-clinical development with knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, quality control, and the biotech/biopharma industryStrong interpersonal skills; Creative, adaptable, capable of self-motivation and independenceCustomer facing attitude, the ability to build relationships based on trust and long-term commitmentStrong gravitas, particularity in specific technology area of focusLeadership skills and experience working in and driving teams to a specific customer-based resultsCommunicate effectively and collaborate successfully within own team as well as cross-functionallyAbility to travel 30% of time for businessWe recognize that attracting, developing and retaining the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this remote position is $106,000.00 - $170,000.00. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities; while also allowing for differentiation on performance based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza's total compensation package for employees.
