As a QMAP Care Specialist, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional care and uplifting spirits. Your keen observation skills and medication expertise will ensure that our residents thrive in a nurturing environment. Your Exciting Daily Responsibilities Be the champion for residents' daily care, supporting them with tasks to ensure their comfort and dignity. Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and laundry while catering to their individual preferences. Utilize your keen instincts to identify and anticipate residents' care needs. Provide compassionate communication to families, addressing their concerns with a positive and proactive attitude. Maintain open lines of communication with supervisors and colleagues, ensuring everyone is informed about resident needs. Prioritize resident safety and well-being with vigilance and care. Act swiftly to report any signs of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resources. Document resident conditions accurately and diligently to uphold high care standards. Manage and administer medications accurately, ensuring each resident's health is optimized. Address any medication-related concerns proactively and notify supervisors as needed. Organize and maintain medication supplies, ensuring accessibility and readiness. Report any maintenance needs promptly to keep the environment safe and comfortable. Contribute ideas and engage actively at monthly staff meetings, enhancing team strategies. Stay adaptable and embrace a variety of duties that enhance our residents' lives. Qualifications Medication certification (QMAP-A/L, Med Tech, Med Aide, or Nurse Delegation) as per state requirements. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in English. High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least one year of elder care experience is preferred. Strong computer skills are a plus. Exceptional self-management and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple tasks and navigate changing circumstances effectively. Confidentiality and sensitivity in handling difficult situations are essential. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Moderate physical activity is required, including handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Frequent standing, walking, and grasping, with occasional sitting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting. May encounter bloodborne pathogens, body excretions, and communicable diseases. Possible exposure to household chemicals. Intermittent movement during work hours, with interaction with clients, family members, and visitors regularly.
