Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Assistant Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the facility and shift coverage. This includes maintaining the working order of guest rooms, meeting spaces, kitchens, and the building exterior. Assistant Director of Engineering will assist the Director of Engineering with managing and scheduling contractors, ensuring building system inspections, and PMs are conducted, and effectively communicating with the hotel in regards to facility-related operations. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and develop departmental training and operational procedures. The candidate must have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with preferred technical knowledge in HVAC systems, mechanical equipment repairs, building automation systems, and energy management. This position requires strong leadership skills and a willingness to work different shifts as the demands of business dictate. Hospitality industry experience is a plus. · Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values. · Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs. · Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd party vendors. · Oversee small projects, or PIPS, and manage and report on the work progress. · Ensure Preventative maintenance is performed on a scheduled basis. · Keep accurate records of PMs in all rooms and equipment. · Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction. · Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills. · The ability to multi-task large and small projects · The ability to plan and forecast needs of the day as well as long-term · Clear concise written and verbal communication skills · Engineering/Facility Management degree or related degree is preferred · Knowledgeable in HVAC, Refrigeration, and Electrical Engineering · Highly organized, and comfortable with HotSOS or similar systems · Possess strong, empathetic leadership skills · Professional in both written and verbal communications · Experienced in hotel/resort preventative maintenance and/or repairs · Able to walk long distances, stand constantly, work both indoors and outdoors year-round, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
