Praus is a development and construction company that does its own design-build

projects and for clients.

*BASIC FUNCTIONS*

We are seeking an accountant/controller with construction accounting experience.

We use QuickBooks online. Must be familiar with reconciling bank and credit

card accounts in QuickBooks, job costing, and understanding/creating financial statements.

Accounting degree preferred but not required.

*Duties*

* Prepare all financial statements on a monthly and/or quarterly basis. * Perform activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. * Prepare and analyze A/R aging reports and interact with Payees to resolve aging issues. * Track and record all investment transactions including dividends, interest, capital gains/losses and pass-through income/loss from partnership investments. * Service all loans and notes receivable. * Maintain Accounting System Database and keep up with changes and updates with the program. * Enforce all corporate policies and procedures and recommendations for changes when necessary. * Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules. * Manage all transactional entries and accurate books. * Track budget and progress of jobs in progress. * Other bookkeeping and accounting related tasks as necessary.

*RESPONSIBILITY*

Has access to most financial information relating to various private entities and

affiliates. The accountant interacts with most employees

concerning policy issues and budgeting activities. External contacts include

financial institutions, vendors, subcontractors, brokers, government agencies,

customers, and auditors. Must have the ability to create accounting systems and

procedures and implement them company wide.

*Qualifications*

* Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of debits and credits. * Two years of experience in accounting. * Knowledge of general ledger accounting (bank reconciliation, accruals, account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, inter-company transfers), working knowledge of accounting software. * Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing and analysis. * Familiarity with cash management practices and accounts payable processes. * Experience with general ledger reconciliation is essential. * Must have excellent organization and communication skills. * Must be a motivated, self-starter. * Basic tax knowledge preferred. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) are advantageous but not required. * Pay is based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
