Nanny/Household Manager Opportunity
A fun, loving, and nurturing family on the Upper East Side (88th and Park) is seeking a full-time, temporary college-educated nanny/household manager to support their busy household while their current employee is on maternity leave. The role is expected to begin in August or September 2025 and continue through December or January 2026. Ideally, the family would love for this person to transition into a long-term, part-time afternoon educator role following the temporary placement, though this is not required. The family has four children: one away at boarding school, a 14-year-old daughter entering 9th grade, a 10-year-old entering 5th grade, and a 5-year-old starting kindergarten. The ideal schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 12 or 1 PM to 8 PM. During the earlier part of the day, you'll have time to run errands and manage light household tasks before school pick-ups and after-school routines begin. Once the children are home, the afternoons and evenings are busy with transportation to activities, coordinating playdates, helping with homework, facilitating educational activities, and managing household flow. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and proactivesomeone who can anticipate needs and jump in wherever help is needed. An educational background or experience tutoring is a strong plus, as is a genuine passion for mentoring and early childhood development. You must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as you will be responsible for driving the family's SUV within the city. A strong swimmer is also preferred, though not required. Flexibility to occasionally stay late or travel with the family is highly valued. Both parents work in Midtown and occasionally travel for work, so they are looking for someone dependable who can keep everything running smoothly in their absence. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a bustling household and enjoys supporting school-aged children through their educational and personal growth. Hourly rate is negotiable and commensurate with experience. This is a local position for candidates based in or near New York City. Qualifications
