Job Summary

Performs Inspection of aircraft maintenance and alterations for quality and airworthiness, providing the approval for return to service with respect to work performed for the work that the Service Center (FAA Certificated Repair Station) is rated. The Quality Assurance Inspector may also perform aircraft maintenance (including Inspections), preventative maintenance and alterations and assist customers with technical and operational support relative to the customer’s aircraft.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Accomplishes all work while following company and industry safety standards while maintaining the highest level of quality.

Adheres to all FAA Regulations, the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), and all other approved data.

Maintains complete knowledge of the work scope of assigned aircraft

Determines airworthiness requirements for aircraft undergoing inspection (reference FAR 43.15)

Verifies inspection program is applicable to assigned aircraft

Performs conformity inspections for certification projects

Supports import/export airworthiness approval

Verifies technical data acceptable to and/or approved by the FAA, has been used to provide inspection and approval for return to service with respect to work performed

Insures corrective action(s) provides for complete correction of discrepancy

Provide(s) record(s) of major repairs and alterations (reference FAA 337)

Provides maintenance record entries with respect to work performed

Contributes to a positive work environment while maintaining the utmost level of professionalism at all times.

Able and willing to mentor others.

Works assigned shift and unscheduled overtime as-needed or requested.

Ability to travel and perform AOG maintenance.

Regularly communicates directly with customers and vendors.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times and adheres to company dress standards.

Perform all other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent with additional courses in aircraft maintenance in recognized service or technical school programs.

FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required

5+ years experience in aircraft maintenance and alteration of turbine aircraft

Experience with the methods, practices, techniques, aids, equipment and tools used to perform aircraft maintenance and alterations. Required

Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations and proficient in the use of the various inspection methods, practices, techniques, aids, equipment and tools appropriate for the work being performed and approved for return to service. Required

Specific working knowledge of FAR 43, FAR 145, FAR 91.

Intermediate computer skills.

FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) .

Previous FAR Part 135 Experience (Including RTS) .

Previous FAR 91.411 & 91.413 Experience .

Previous Avionics Installation / Check-Out Experience .

Working Conditions

Office environment

Possible hangar and ramp environments with variable temperature range

Physical Requirements

Ability to wear and utilize personal protective equipment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance

Comfortable in tightly enclosed areas, heights involving lifts and ladders, as well as, flying.

Requires the ability to perform all physical functions of the job (hear, stand, kneel, walk, etc.)
