ICU Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Salem, MA 01970 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs) Facility: Level III Trauma Center, Medical/Surgical ICU Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 10, 2025 - November 8, 2025) Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM); rotating days/evenings/nights & every other weekend (floating required) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880-$2020 per week Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 in ICU; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg Charting System: EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Massachusetts RN license (Registered Nurse - MA) BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) Minimum 3 years of general ICU nursing experience At least 2 years of continuous MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) experience in one location Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips Willingness to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed Strong communication, clinical, and critical thinking skills ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients with complex diagnoses, including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including attendings and residents available 24/7 Float to Medical/Surgical units as required, managing up to 4-5 patients when floated Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for patient safety Accurately document patient care and interventions using EPIC EMR Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards Experience the best of New England nursing jobs in Salem, MA-renowned for its historic charm, arts scene, and welcoming healthcare community.
