Duties and ResponsibilitiesExpert understanding of and ability to accomplishNAVSEA Standard Item (NSI) 009-73 requirementsInspection, testing, installation, removal, and repair of shipboard electrical cabling and electronic equipmentCable installations include banding, boxes, connectors, equipment, penetrations, cableway, hangers, and associated componentsMCT, MCP, Stuffing Tube opening, packing, closing, and testingBonding and Grounding of Electrical EquipmentNSI 009-25 requirementsThe installation of modification kits, overhaul, repair, disassembly, reassembly of various electrical/ electronic equipment using drawings, kit instructions and NSI 009-16 and 009-36Create, finalize and submit Work Authorization Forms (WAF) along with developing and tracking WAF Logs and tagoutsCreate, finalize, submit and track Conditions Found Reports (CFR), as required.Interpret and breakdown work scope from blueprints and drawings (arrangement, block-wiring, isometric, cable routing, power, lighting, and IC system removal/installation)Electronic troubleshooting, use of multimeters and network testersElectrical Fit up - use of grinders, reciprocating saws, drills.Lead multiple electronic teams in the execution of multiple electronics work items or ship alterations.Track and report job physical progress and budgets to Shipboard Supervisor and/or Project ManagerRequired to have personal tools to include but not limited toMultimeterHand toolsConnector termination tools (DMC, RJ45 crimpers, soldering iron, etc.)Perform all work in accordance with the established policies and procedures detailed in the Waveforce Electrical Safety ManualCapability to work on ships, barges and submarinesCapability to lift and/or move up to 45 poundsExperience RequirementsFive (5) years direct experience in shipboard electronic installation and repair servicesHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMust be at least 18 years of ageMust be a U.S. CitizenOther RequirementsNSI 009-73 Qualified Connector Fabrication Certification (coaxial, triaxial, ethernet, and multi-pin connectors) required.NSI 009-123 Fiber Optic Handling, Termination and Testing Certification required.Must be able to pass Waveforce Electrical pre-employment drug and background screeningMust be able to obtain government facility and/or shipyard access, to include a DBIDS credential, as required by work locations.Must successfully complete OSHA 10 Hour Training, Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA) Safety Orientation and all required Environmental, Health and Safety orientation training after initial employment, but prior to shipboard work.Ability to work overtime, as requiredAbility to travel outside the Norfolk, Virginia area, if required
