Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/25/2025 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse – PCU (Surgical Oncology) Location: Columbus, OH 43210 Contract Duration: 16 weeks Schedule: Shifts Available: Nights: 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Days: 3x12-Hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) Orientation: 72 hours total Weekly Breakdown: Weekly Gross: $2,375.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $576.00 Per Week Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,799.00 Per Week Required Experience: Minimum Experience: 2 years Oncology experience: Preferred, not required Travel experience: Not required Teaching hospital experience: Not required Required PCU work experience Licensure & Certifications: License: Compact or Ohio state RN license (must be in hand at submission) Certifications (Required): BLS ACLS NIHSS Certifications (Preferred): ONS Chemo/Bio Certification Common Diagnoses: Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine tumors Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer Plastics: reconstructive breast or sarcoma-related surgery Ortho surgery Cardiothoracic surgery Skills & Equipment: Core Skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Telemetry (GE B450 monitors) Tracheostomy management Chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac) External and nocturnal CPAP/BiPAP Special Procedures: Chemotherapy administration Blood transfusions IV antibiotics Insulin and heparin drips Management of oncologic emergencies (e.g., cytokine release syndrome) Equipment: Alaris pumps Stryker beds Bladder scanner Charting System: Required: EPIC Compliance Requirements: Tier 4 Travel Compliance Fingerprinting must be completed ASAP upon contract signing Candidates near Ohio must travel to a local location Remote candidates will be mailed a fingerprinting packet Deadline: All compliance must be complete by Tuesday before start date References: 2 professional references required At least 1 must be from leadership (manager, director, or charge RN) Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Vaccine Policy: COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required Flu Vaccine: Required (medical exemptions only) Important Considerations: Local candidates accepted at same rate No current OSU employees may be hired as travelers Former OSU employees must have a 6-month gap to be eligible Candidates must be flexible, eager to learn, and adaptable to the unit’s needs Local candidates accepted at same rate.
