**Job Title: Registered Nurse – Mother Baby Unit**
**Shift:** 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
**Location:** Asheville, NC
**Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Mother Baby Unit. This unit is crucial for providing exemplary care to new mothers and their babies in a supportive and nurturing environment. With a capacity of 34 private couplet rooms and a committed staff team, you will play an essential role in caring for families during this transformative time.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers and their newborns.
- Monitor and assess patients, providing education on breastfeeding, newborn care, and post-delivery recovery.
- Implement and manage care plans using advanced medical equipment and technology (e.g., Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights).
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
**Unit Information:**
- **Staffing:** 78 staff members with a supportive mix of RNs, PCTs, and charge nurses.
- **Patient Ratios:** 1:3-4 couplets.
- **Equipment Used:** Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights, EMR – Cerner.
**Qualifications:**
- **Required Skills:**
- Prior experience in a Mother Baby unit.
- Must possess BLS and NRP certifications.
- **Preferred Skills:**
- Experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery.
- STABLE certification.
- **Ideal Candidate:**
- Team player who is passionate about teaching and learning.
**Other Details:**
- **Dress Code:** Navy blue scrubs.
- **Floating Area:** Possible assistance in Labor & Delivery and NICU.
- **Weekend Requirement:** Weekends required; no on-call shifts.
