Position Title: Project Engineer Heavy Civil
nnWe are looking for a results-driven Project Engineer to join our infrastructure delivery team near Raleigh, NC . This individual will be instrumental in supporting project execution across multiple heavy civil transportation initiatives.
nThis role provides hands-on technical and operational assistance to our project leadership and field staff, focusing on budget oversight, production tracking, material logistics, documentation, and coordination with partners. nnKey Duties & Contributions

- Collaborate with project supervisors to analyze design documents and implement required field changes and updates. n
- Support job site teams by tracking work quantities, production goals, and cost-related data for reporting and forecasting. n
- Lead the preparation and distribution of technical submittals and information requests (RFIs) in alignment with owner and regulatory requirements. n
- Facilitate communication and coordination with subcontracted crews to ensure schedules, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks are upheld. n
- Take part in developing work schedules using CPM techniques; regularly review and revise timelines to reflect field progress. n
- Work with vendors to coordinate the ordering, delivery, and inventory of key materials necessary for uninterrupted project flow. n
- Assist in producing temporary structure layouts, such as falsework or shoring diagrams, in support of active site operations. n
- Conduct quality assurance tasks to confirm that construction work aligns with the specifications and plans; submit compliance documentation promptly. n
- Develop task-specific plans aimed at improving jobsite efficiency while reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability. n
- Evaluate and annotate shop drawings and redline documents to confirm accuracy prior to submitting for approval. n
Required Background & Skills

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or a related field. n
- At least 1 year of experience on transportation or DOT-related infrastructure projects. n
- Familiar with document control software, MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, and computer-aided drafting tools. Exposure to Primavera P6 and HCSS is beneficial. n
- Strong organizational habits, effective verbal/written communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. n
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative setting and balance multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment. n

- Primarily local travel during daytime hours; occasional extended travel may be necessary. n
- A valid drivers license and a clean driving record are required. n
