Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Stratus. We want the candidate for Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of our team! Stratus is a consulting engineering and design company specializing in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Information Technology Systems for K-12 educational facilities, higher education facilities of all types, health care facilities, commercial buildings, animal care facilities, retirement facilities, and local governments.

Primary Essential Functions

n
• Produce holistic designs of mechanical HVAC systems, including schematic conceptualization, load calculations, equipment selections, layouts, piping, and writing specifications
n
• Design and create MEP schematics for large K-12 construction and renovation projects using BIM software, and perform resource consumption and energy analysis on MEP systems
n
• Designs will result in producing 100% complete construction documents
n
• Lead design teams on projects
n
• Ability to communicate well with clients, junior, and senior staff
n
• Analyze and interpret design verification data
n
• Will be able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment
n
• Assist with coordinating design verification activities, including assigning roles and responsibilities in the verification process
n
• As needed, work with established outside vendor(s) regarding product oversight, timelines, and quality control
n

Qualifications

n
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
n
• 4-5 years of experience in engineering design and project management with a consulting engineering or A/E firm, specialization in mechanical engineering
n
• PE is not required, but is highly preferred
n
• EIT completed
n
• Strong client skills
n
• Strong organizational skills are required
n
• Experience in completing MEP construction design documents in Autodesk Revit
n
