Position Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and support production goals. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization
  • Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Develop new processes or modify existing ones to accommodate new products or production goals.
  • Utilize tools like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical analysis to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
  • Analyze production data to identify root causes of defects, downtime, or inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to implement effective solutions to process issues.
Project Management
  • Lead process improvement projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Prepare project documentation, including process flow diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
Quality Assurance
  • Work with quality assurance teams to ensure processes meet regulatory and internal quality standards.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process performance and quality metrics.
Equipment and Technology Integration
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment or technologies.
  • Train production staff on new processes and equipment operations.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure processes adhere to environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Familiarity with process control systems and data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, OSHA, EPA).
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
