Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and passionate AM Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is committed to consistent excellence in food preparation. This role is critical in supporting the execution of our seasonal, globally inspired menus and ensuring Chef's vision comes to life through precision and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily prep lists and kitchen tasks with efficiency and accuracy
- Wash, chop, portion, and prepare ingredients following standardized recipes and specifications
- Assist with setting up and breaking down stations for brunch and dinner service
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and walk-ins
- Uphold all health, sanitation, and safety standards as set by the City of Chicago
- Collaborate with line cooks and sous chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a professional kitchen or culinary training preferred
- Strong knife skills and working knowledge of prep techniques and kitchen safety
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative in completing tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning hours
- Passion for food and a desire to be part of a creative, mission-driven culinary team
