What You'll Be Doing
- Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures using high-field magnets and digital imaging systems
- Interpret physician orders, adjust scanning protocols, and independently execute studies
- Screen patients and verify MRI safety protocols to prevent contraindications or adverse reactions
- Position patients with care and precision to ensure optimal image quality and comfort
- Administer contrast agents when required, under established guidelines and monitoring practices
- Coordinate with radiologists for image review, interpretation priorities, and urgent findings
- Document procedures and patient data accurately in EHR and PACS systems
- Contribute to equipment calibration, quality control, and safety monitoring
- Mentor or precept junior staff as part of professional development culture
Education
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent
- Completion of an MRI program accredited by ARRT or equivalent body
- ARRT certification in MRI (or eligible within 6 months of hire)
- Connecticut Radiographer License required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
- Minimum of one year of experience preferred; will consider highly motivated trainees
- Skilled in MRI anatomy, physics, imaging protocols, and artifact reduction
- Comfortable in a fast-paced hospital or outpatient setting with both scheduled and STAT cases
- Proficient with digital radiology systems and confident in troubleshooting minor tech issues
- Compassionate communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and clinical precision
