Position Summary
nThe Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept flooring throughout all common areas of the long-term care facility. This position ensures a hazard-free environment that supports the mobility and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities

- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas according to schedule. n
- Perform floor buffing, waxing, and deep cleaning as required. n
- Operate industrial floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers. n
- Remove waste and trash from assigned areas. n
- Place caution signs during cleaning tasks to prevent accidents. n
- Maintain hallways, entrances, ramps, emergency exits, and outdoor access areas clean and clear. n
- Conduct routine floor inspections to identify fall risks or unsafe conditions. n
- Assist with moving furniture for deep cleaning or internal events. n
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor. n
- Load, organize, and maintain assigned equipment and supplies. n
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and machinery. n

Physical Demands

- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally. n
- Frequent walking, bending, pushing, and lifting. n
- Regular use of cleaning equipment and mechanical tools n
