Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
The nationally accredited cancer care program at a facility in Davenport, IA, is seeking a passionate Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist to join its dynamic team. As part of the organization, you will provide team-based collaborative care and treatment in a clinic setting that includes advanced technologies such as SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics services to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care while participating in teaching according to regulatory standards.
- Conduct patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, and plan checks.
- Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals including Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
- Engage in the calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources.
- Implement new technologies as needed while maintaining a strong work ethic within the team environment.
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- US Board Eligible (with plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified in Medical Physics by the ABR or ABMP.
- Willingness to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Valid Iowa license (or willing to obtain).
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Physics.
