Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the past 6 months License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Recent IR experience Description: Minimum 2 years of experience is required. Clienttion badge is required. The unit consists of 1 IR suite and 1 CT, with potential to float to other Radiology areas. Average number of cases per day is between 7 to 10. Techs will scrub cases with physicians, manage supplies, and handle billing. Registered Nurses do not scrub cases; they are responsible for sedation and patient charting during procedures. Common patient diagnoses include biopsies, chest tubes, angiograms, port placements, GJ placements, perm caths, temporary dialysis, and fistulagrams. Experience with EMR and Siemens Axiom Artis FA equipment is required. The IR radiologist is available during interventionalist hours and on call. Each shift has a Charge Nurse and Lead Technologist present. Shifts are pre-scheduled in a set rotation with no option for self-scheduling. Call responsibilities include being on call 1 to 2 times per week, with primary call every third weekend. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes. Techs are not required to float to other departments but may choose to do so. OR scrubs will be provided. Unit-specific orientation lasts 1 to 2 weeks, depending on needs. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is Cerner.
