Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to drive nursing practice outcomes for the team!
Shift: PT (20hrs) - Days

Clinical Nurse Specialist
demonstrates advanced and specialized clinical knowledge and skills to facilitate the provision of
patient/family-focused
care to promote health and/or well-being improve quality of life; drive practice changes throughout the organization and ensure use of evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes. This individual provides expertise and support either directly or indirectly by influencing patients/families, nurses/nursing practice, and organization/systems through direct care, leadership, coaching, research, ethical decision making, collaboration, and consultation. Education: Master’s degree required. Doctorate preferred. Certification: RN license VA or compact/multi state eligible. Must be certified in specialty area deemed eligible for CNS as recognized by State Boards of Nursing. CNS registration with Virginia or North Carolina Board of Nursing required. BLS Required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Intermediate Care and Critical Care. Experience: 2 years + of Nursing experience, recent experience in a
hospital setting required . Experience with adult population required. Experience implementing and evaluating evidence-based practices, educating staff, leading practice changes and working with interdisciplinary teams to improve care.
