Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) will provide routine Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care in a manner conducive to the comfort and safety of residents and will be responsible for performing person-centered care according to the care plan (profile) and carrying out the assigned duties by charge nurse.

Job Qualifications:

Environmental and Working Conditions:

n

The CNA works primarily in a healthcare/community environment and must be able to move throughout the buildings and grounds as needed throughout the day. It is possible that the work may include exposure to residents' infectious conditions involving Risk Classification Categories 1, 2, and 3**. Environmental conditions will fluctuate. To be qualified for the position, applicants and teammates will have the ability to work in the environment conducive to caring for residents, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to self or others.

Physical and Mental Effort:

The CNA works primarily in a healthcare/community environment and must be able to move throughout the buildings and grounds as needed throughout the day. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet resident/family needs and deadlines.

Essential Functions:

Communicate professionally and effectively with residents, families, professional providers, and teammates.

Perform and accurately document ADLs in electronic record.

nnnnn

Document and verbally report resident conditions/changes in conditions in EHRs according to facility procedures.

nnnnn

Document and report all incidents and/or complaints according to facility procedures.

nnnnn

Promote resident independence, interacting with residents in a manner promoting mental and physical well-being.

nnnnn

Perform daily care per the resident's care plan/profile, observed needs, according to facility standards of care and within state regulation and facility policies.

nnnnn

Assist with admitting, transferring, and discharging residents as assigned by the charge nurse.

nnnnn

Maintain the resident's environment in a safe and tidy manner, including adherence to infection control practices.

nnnnn

Recognize and respond and make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to resident care needs.

nnnnn

Perform assigned tasks in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

nnnnn

Complete and maintain compliance with Relias Learning courses.

nnnnn

Perform other assignments as requested.

nnnnn

Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents' activity preferences and needs.
