Certification: Medical assistant certification at the time of hire or the ability to achieve a medical assistant certification with support from Rogue Community Health.

Required to complete a criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen once a conditional offer is accepted.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in team Huddles, work with the team to ensure appropriate pre-visit preparation including culturally and linguistically appropriate services
2. Complete intake interview for new and returning patients according to established procedure including counseling patients/families on their role, and RCH's role, in a medical home (Patient Centered Medical Home Brochure insert)
3. Prepare patients for examinations consistent with the purpose of the appointment
4. Record all pertinent elements of the patient encounter into EMR by providing real time charting for provider
5. Responsible for knowing and following clinical policy and procedure, including documenting all patient interactions in Epic in a manner consistent with professional standards
6. Perform related duties necessary to ensure quality patient care as requested by supervisor, including addressing barriers when the patient has not met treatment goals
7. Assist providers with exams of patients or any special procedures
8. Process phone calls or MyChart communications from patients, routing as appropriate, and responding in a timely manner
9. "Ready" refill requests per Epic procedure
10. Administer treatments including, nebulizer, oral medications, pediatric and adult vaccines at the direction of the RN or provider
11. Perform screening tests including vision, audiometry, EKG, pulse OX, and peak flow meter at the direction of the provider
12. Clean and stock rooms, disinfect exam room tables, treatment and lab surfaces daily
13. Schedule qualified patients for appointments based on established protocol, identified need, and availability of appointments; follow up with patients/families who have not kept important appointments
14. Perform supervised laboratory procedures as approved by the Laboratory Manager
15. Prepare and sterilize clinical instruments. Review expiration dates for sterilized equipment and re-sterilize equipment as needed to ensure a readily available supply of sterile instruments
16. Assist with Medication Assistance Programs
17. Openly, clearly and respectfully share and receive information, opinions, concerns and feedback in a supportive manner
18. Work collaboratively by mentoring new and existing co-workers, building bridges and creating rapport with team members across the organization
