The Privacy Legal team at WBD is responsible for driving the company's consumer-first global privacy strategy. As a Senior Counsel, you will advise on privacy and data issues, work with emerging technologies, and collaborate with various teams across the company. Key Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate privacy, security, advertising, and data terms for complex agreements, including service/SAAS, ad tech, and distribution contracts. Provide guidance on statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations, translating them into actionable requirements. Develop global templates and documentation for distribution and data agreements. Advise engineering, product, and marketing teams on privacy, legal, and data security issues. Collaborate on data use cases, privacy frameworks, and DPIAs to ensure compliance and support business strategies. Draft and review information security policies and incident response plans. Respond to data security incidents and regulatory inquiries, coordinating with relevant teams. Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7 years of legal experience in consumer data privacy, information security, or data governance. Experience responding to data security incidents and regulatory inquiries. Knowledge of global privacy laws such as CCPA, GDPR, and e-Privacy Directive. JD from an accredited law school and active California State Bar membership or in-house counsel registration. Strong legal judgment, negotiation skills, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Experience working with technical teams and supervising privacy professionals is preferred.
