A DC 1st Class Engineering License is required. Responsibilities
Maintenance and Operation:
Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment. Candidates should have experience with commercial-industrial building equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs, and VFDs. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and specifications, and respond to service calls related to gas-fired boilers, chillers, AHUs, fire pumps, generators, UPS, ATS, BAS, and fire alarms. Routine Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections, identify potential issues, and ensure equipment operates within safety and efficiency standards. Respond to service calls, diagnose problems, and document activities using the site CMMS system. Troubleshooting:
Diagnose system malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement solutions. Documentation:
Keep detailed records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and replacements, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Compliance:
Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards concerning stationary equipment. Collaboration:
Work with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operations and issue resolution. Address questions, report progress, and follow up on discrepancies. Emergency Response:
Act as a first responder during stationary equipment emergencies, following safety procedures. Continuous Learning:
Stay updated on industry trends, equipment, and best practices through training and workshops. Qualifications
Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED. Eligibility for a government security clearance, including U.S. Citizenship, with a minimum Secret Clearance and ability to obtain TS/CI with Poly. DC 1st Class Engineering License required. Candidate Expectations
Experience with operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, etc. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interpret technical documentation, including operation sequences, manuals, and specifications. Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems and HVAC controls. Abilities
Physical ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to relocate a 12-foot ladder without assistance. Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing scaffolds, lifts, and ladders. Perform routine physical tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching. Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, and communication in English. Recognize problems or potential issues, applying general rules to identify solutions. Pay Range
