Job Description
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and has a proven track record in handling complex business disputes with a deep understanding of corporate law. This role is essential for law firms representing corporate clients in high-stakes disputes.
Responsibilities
Litigation Management:
Manage complex corporate litigation involving breach of contract, corporate governance, intellectual property disputes, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and antitrust issues. Client Representation:
Represent clients in court, arbitration, mediation, and other proceedings. Advocate during trials to secure favorable outcomes. Legal Research and Analysis:
Conduct legal research, analyze relevant laws and precedents, and apply legal principles to client issues. Drafting Legal Documents:
Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Strategic Legal Counsel:
Advise clients on risk management, compliance, and litigation strategies, including dispute resolution, mergers, and acquisitions. Settlement Negotiations:
Negotiate settlements to resolve disputes favorably without trial when possible. Collaboration:
Work with attorneys, legal staff, clients, experts, and consultants to develop litigation strategies. Case Management:
Oversee all litigation phases from pre-trial to post-trial procedures. Billing and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records, track billable hours, and ensure timely invoicing. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active Texas bar membership in good standing. 5-7 years of experience in corporate litigation or business law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle complex legal issues with professionalism. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation software. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Specialized knowledge in areas like mergers and acquisitions or securities law. Experience with trial work and managing high-stakes cases. Proven leadership and mentorship abilities. Pay & Benefits Salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 based on experience. Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
