200612947 Summary Are you excited about driving product impact through measurement and evaluation for products used by hundreds of millions globally? The Data Science and Insights team within the evaluation organization aims to guide product development through principled evaluation and rigorous data analysis. You will collaborate with engineering teams to enhance search quality and develop features that deliver exceptional experiences across Apple devices and languages. Description Your role involves researching evaluation methods to improve Apple’s user-facing products like Siri and Apple Intelligence. You will work with engineering teams to implement your methodologies, handle large data sets, and solve complex analysis problems using advanced techniques, including prompt engineering and building LLMs as judges. Responsibilities include data collection, quality control, processing, presentation, and building analysis pipelines. You will develop a deep understanding of product data structures and metrics, advocate for necessary changes, and work closely with product teams on machine learning algorithms and user experience evaluations. Passion for building outstanding products is essential. This role requires diverse skills and innovation. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operational Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Mathematics, or Physics. Proficiency in data science, machine learning, analytics, and statistical data analysis. Experience with designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting experiments, especially related to data quality, evaluation, and risk assessment. Strong programming skills, including SQL, Spark, or similar, and experience with scripting languages like Python, R, or Scala for data processing and development. Ability to translate business questions into statistical analyses and communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences, including data scientists, engineers, and business partners. Preferred Qualifications Effective cross-functional collaboration and teamwork skills. Experience managing projects of varying scope and duration, knowing when to dive deep or stay broad. Experience with methods addressing accuracy and variability in human annotation data. Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements. Pay & Benefits The base salary range for this role is $139,500 to $258,100, depending on skills, experience, and location.
