nPerforms a variety of duties to include psychiatric office secretarial duties and administrative tasks which require knowledge of customer service, insurances, co-pays, deductibles, practice policies to ensure patient satisfaction and positive outcomes. Also assists with Certified Medical Assistant duties like vital signs, injection administration and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatments.
nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
nGreet visitors as soon as they enter, determine their needs and direct them to the proper area of the practice.
nCollect information from patients, including insurance information, money for copays and contact information to put into electronic medical record.
nCheck insurance eligibility on patients with appointments and call patients whose insurance is not active.
nAnswer the telephone and redirect calls to the appropriate staff member, and respond to voicemails in a timely manner.
nMaintain office inventory, ensuring there are always efficient levels of medical supplies and other office equipment.
nAssist medical staff with responding to correspondence, including email and physical letters.
nTakes monies owed, posts monies and produces a receipt for the patient.
nSchedules patient appointments, answers general questions, obtains authorizations and pre-authorizations for patient care services.
nMaintains master calendar for medical staff.
nCompletes required paperwork or documentation.
n· Ensure patient has signed consent forms for TMS, authorizations by insurance are in place and TMS sessions are administered according to protocols.
n· Assist provider with cortical mappings, measurements and cap placement.
n· Explaining TMS procedures and its possible effects on patients, as well as answering questions.
