What you would be doing:

A Facility Manager with an architecture background brings a unique blend of technical, design, and operational expertise to the management of buildings and infrastructure. This role ensures that facilities are functional, efficient, safe, and sustainable throughout their lifecycle, while leveraging architectural knowledge to optimize building performance and user experience.

Space Planning & Utilization Analyze and coordinate space allocation, moves, and renovations to maximize efficiency and support organizational needs. Review and interpret architectural plans and drawings for facility projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements. Project Management Oversee small- and large-scale facility renovations, upgrades, and construction projects from conception through completion. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design intent and facility standards are met. Maintenance & Operations Direct and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Supervise facility inspections, safety compliance, and preventive maintenance schedules. Sustainability & Compliance Implement sustainable practices in building operations, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and green building strategies. Ensure all facility operations comply with health, safety, accessibility, and environmental regulations. Vendor & Budget Management Manage contracts with service providers and vendors for maintenance, repairs, and facility services. Prepare and monitor budgets for facility projects and operations, ensuring cost-effective solutions. Stakeholder Communication Serve as the liaison between design teams, facility users, and management to address needs and resolve issues. Develop and communicate facility management policies and procedures. Specialized Skills from Architecture Design Integration : Ability to interpret and adapt architectural plans for facility management needs, ensuring that operational considerations are integrated from the design phase onward. Technical Expertise : Understanding of building systems, construction methods, and materials to inform maintenance and renovation decisions. Sustainability Focus : Knowledge of sustainable design principles and their application in ongoing facility operations. Problem Solving : Strong analytical and research skills to address complex facility challenges and propose innovative solutions.

What we require:

Education Bachelors or masters in architecture, Facility Management, or related field Certifications (optional) Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), etc. Experience Prior experience in architecture, construction, or facility management Technical Skills Proficiency in CAD, BIM, facility management software, and project management tools Soft Skills Communication, leadership, teamwork, and organizational abilities
