Position Summary:
We are hiring a Spray Technician to support the health and growth of our nursery plants. This role is responsible for the safe and effective application of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides across our nursery. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, a valid pesticide applicator license, and a strong focus on safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides according to label directions and safety protocols. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all spray activities. Calibrate, operate, and maintain spray equipment. Monitor plant health and identify pest, disease, and weed concerns. Maintain accurate and timely application records in compliance with state and federal laws. Follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices where appropriate. Assist with general nursery operations when needed.
Qualifications:
Valid North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License (required). Previous experience applying pesticides in a nursery, landscaping, or agricultural environment preferred. Knowledge of plant pests, diseases, and safe chemical handling practices. Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulatory requirements. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks daily. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and work ethic.
Pay & Benefits:
Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications Supplemental benefits package available Weekends off Employee discount on nursery products
