Data Architect 100% Remote Summary Data is at the core of everything we do, it powers the business, empowers our people, and allows us to leave things better than we found them. Do you love pulling the big strings, designing elegant solutions, and solving complex problems with a group of sharp-minded, amazing people? Did you grow up in the programming space but figured out quickly that being able to move terabytes of data with a small script is so much more fun? Do diagrams of data easily transfer from paper to code and back again in your brain?

The Data Architect has a highly advanced skillset that will allow them to dream and implement complex models, datasets, warehouses, workflows, and solutions all related to our ever-growing data ecosystem. Our team, with your addition, will push the boundaries of BI, strengthen the backbone of our data infrastructure, and allow our company to achieve things others only dream they could do. We have adopted an idea that a "roadmap feels a little too permanent and has adopted the concept of an "option map. The ability to "change if we need to regarding technologies that power our business. We need someone that understands this concept and is willing to bend like an Olympic gymnast when they need to and embrace a better mousetrap, maybe even build one of our own.

What you'll be doing

Proactively drive the vision for BI (PowerBI) and Data Warehousing (Snowflake) across all business units and defines and executes on a plan to achieve that vision Recommends the use of new technologies for the delivery and operation of our data platforms Drives the architecture, design, building, and launching of data models and data pipelines for implementation into production Builds cross-functional relationships with business leaders, business analysts, and data analysts to help them understand how data can effectively inform and transform business unit operations Produces the appropriate documentation, pictorial data model diagrams, and any other artifacts that help understand the complexities of the data Produces the data architecture needed to support current and future business systems Coach and mentor other data team members related to best practices and solutions Help us to make better decisions, empower our people, and solve problems Understanding of PII regulations and best implementation practices to meet compliance. Collaborate with team in designing and maintaining policies and procedures around data governance and stewardship. Build and support documentation around enterprise data lineage, mapping, and source to target transformations. Skills we're seeking

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field 8+ years of experience with data architecture Strong

cloud-based DW

experience, ideally with

Snowflake

Azure experience preferred, ideally using

Databricks

5+ years of experience in data modelling, design, experience with

OLAP and OLTP Strong BI, and at least some

Power BI

experience Strong experience interfacing with business users and architecting solutions based on business goals Nice to have experience

Strong familiarity with data movement languages such as

Python and T-SQL
